Citrus Belt Amateur Radio Club (CBarC) was organized in 1938 then reactivated after WWII, established as an official club in 1947. We have been serving the local communities since then.
AMATEUR RADIO IS NOT ONLY A HOBBY BUT A SERVICE
CBARC members are with many organizations such as the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Diabetes, and Cystic Fibrosis Walks.
We also provide communications for the Baker to Vegas Law Enforcement Run and various local parades. Some members help with the US Forest Service and the California Division of Forestry at critical times of the year, and also with search and rescue relaying traffic.
We are and Emergency Ready Club.
Our club serves the community in many different aspects, also working with the Patton State Hospital (ACS) Auxiliary Communications Service, the Department of the Army under Military Affiliate Radio Service (MARS) and various other governmental agencies
Wednesday nights we operate a New Ham Net from our clubhouse on the club repeater. On Monday through Friday nights some of our members are involved in other nets.
